Hard and soft landscaping proects.

A selection of some of our work.

Retaining a steep slope with special

 woven matting impregnated with grass

and clover seed. The matting rots away after about three years. It is held in place with metal pegs and needs about 4" to 6" of top soil underneath. The slope was too steep to rake the soil on so we had to pat it in place just before we rolled the matting sections down the bank. It has worked well.

Three weeks later the grass is starting to

 cover the matting.

The new ski run in Torquay.

A front garden design for a keen yachting family, the railway sleeper waves also helped with the retaining of this steep bank.

The front garden now planted up with

a strong leaning towards evergreen plants in order to screen off the top road  from the house. Tall ornamental grasses

also work well in this situation.

Creating terraces with natural stone walls, built without mortar.

Another stretch of natural stone walling

A curved seating section.

A very difficult curved section.

Creating a woden seat from an oak

branch broken off in a storm. The surrounding grass is part of a meadow with winding pathways. Hopefully I will

remember to wind one in front of this seat.

Preparing the soil and turfing.

Turfing finished

A view across the valley, through a hedge on top of a built

up bank so views only one way from the house.
